The design and type selection combines closely with the purpose of mixing work. Different mixing course is carried out through different mixers, so the type of mixer, motor power and mixing speed must be determined according to mixing purpose and technics requirement firstly, and then components like reducer, rack, mixing shaft and shaft seal should be selected. The following are detailed procedures: 1.Select the type of mixer according to technics conditions and mixing purpose. Pay attention to the causal relations among agitator dynamic characteristic, flow state produced during the mixing course and different stirring purpose.
2.In basis on the decided agitator type, mixing flow state and technics requirements including mixing time, fall velocity and dispersion control, to determine the motor power, mixing speed and agitator diameter by experimental measures and computer simulation design.
3.Select reducer type from reducer selection table according to motor power, mixing rotating speed and technics conditions. If select the reducer type according to actual torsional operation moment, the actual torsional moment should be less than allowable one.
4.Select the rack and coupling with the same specification as 'd' based on the output shaft end 'd' of reducer and bearing pattern of mixing shaft.
5.Select shaft seal type according to the mixing shaft end 'do' of rack, mounting space, operating pressure and temperature.
6.Design and select the structural type of mixing shaft and check its intensity and rigidity according to installation pattern and structural requirements.

7.Select installation bottom cap, flange and flanged base according to the nominal DN, laying type of mixing shaft and pressure grade. 8.Determine if an auxiliary bearing should be equipped according to the bearing and vibration-proof condition.
During the above procedures, the collocation and equipment of the mixer may refer to the flow chart of ' Design selecion of Mixers ' .The size of shaft end plays the key part in connecting different components. Components of the same size can replace each other or form a combination in principle.
